Carlos David

Carlos David is a documentary director, photographer, and multimedia artist whose work explores diversity, inclusion, and self-expression themes. Through his art, he examines the nuanced relationship between self-perception and the observer’s gaze, uniting a vibrant community in the shared pursuit of identity, dreams, and fantasies.

David is a multiple-time recipient of the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council Creative Engagement Grant (LMCC) and the Upper Manhattan Empowerment Zone Arts Engagement Grant (UMEZ). He has also been awarded the National Association for Latino Arts and Cultures (NALAC) grant and the Adobe Artist Development Fund and is an alumnus of Creative Capital’s “Taller.” His project PERSONAE was shortlisted for the Aesthetica Magazine Art Prize and nominated for the Fine Art Photography Awards.

His work has been exhibited internationally, with shows in New York (USA), York (England), Ljubljana (Slovenia), Rovinj (Croatia), and Saltillo (Mexico).
